The Final Promise
The book of Revelation closes with one of the most powerful promises in all of Scripture. After revealing God’s plan for history, the defeat of evil, and the creation of a new heaven and a new earth, Jesus leaves believers with these comforting words:”Yes, I am coming soon.”These are not merely words of encouragement. They are a promise from the King of Kings Himself.No matter how difficult life becomes, no matter how much darkness seems to surround us, Jesus reminds us that this world is not our final home. One day He will return and make all things new.
Living with Expectation
The early church lived with a deep anticipation of Christ’s return. Their response to His promise was simple:”Come, Lord Jesus.”This wasn’t a cry of fear but of hope.When we long for Christ’s return, it changes how we live. We become less attached to temporary things and more focused on eternal ones. We prioritize faith, love, and obedience because we know our Savior could return at any time.
Hope in a Broken World
Every day we see reminders that our world is broken. There is pain, injustice, sickness, and loss. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming.Yet Revelation 22:20 reminds us that God has not forgotten His people. Jesus is coming back. Every tear will be wiped away. Every wrong will be made right. Sin and death will no longer have the final word.The return of Christ is the believer’s ultimate hope.
A Personal Question
If Jesus returned today, would your heart be ready?
His promise should inspire us not only to look forward to His coming but also to live faithfully until that day arrives. Each day is an opportunity to grow closer to Him, share His love, and walk in obedience.
The Prayer of Every Believer
John’s response is one that Christians throughout history have echoed:”Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”May that be our prayer as well. Not because we are trying to escape life, but because we long to see our Savior face to face.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise that You are coming again. Help me to live faithfully, love others deeply, and keep my eyes fixed on You. When life feels difficult, remind me that You are making all things new. Until that day comes, strengthen my faith and help me serve You wholeheartedly. Amen.
