When God Says It’s Time to Go
There are moments in life when God whispers, “It’s time.”Time to leave what is familiar.
Time to step into something new.
Time to trust Him, even when we don’t know what comes next.
Matthew 2:21 is a simple verse, yet it carries a powerful message. After years of living in Egypt, Joseph received God’s instruction to return to Israel. Scripture doesn’t tell us that Joseph questioned God, argued about the timing, or asked for a detailed plan. Instead, it simply says, “So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.”
Joseph’s obedience is remarkable. He had already uprooted his family once to protect Jesus. Now God was calling him to move again. Each step required faith, courage, and trust that God knew what He was doing.
Many of us long for certainty before we move. We want every answer, every detail, and every guarantee. But God often asks us to take the first step before revealing the next one.
Whether God is calling you into a new job, a new ministry, a restored relationship, or a deeper walk with Him, remember this: the safest place to be is wherever God leads.
Obedience doesn’t eliminate uncertainty, but it places us under the care of the One who sees the entire journey. Joseph couldn’t see the future, but he knew the God who held it.
Maybe today God is nudging your heart to let go of fear, forgive someone, begin something new, or simply trust Him one more day. Like Joseph, your next step doesn’t have to be complicated. It begins with saying, “Yes, Lord.”When God says it’s time to move, don’t let fear keep you standing still. The road ahead may be unknown, but the One leading you has never failed.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, give me the courage to obey You even when I don’t have all the answers. Help me trust Your timing, Your direction, and Your plan for my life. May my heart respond as Joseph’s did—with willing obedience and unwavering faith. Lead me where You want me to go, and remind me that You are with me every step of the journey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
